Rye Whiskey
Europe 2009

Passing thru my hometown town today I ran into my friend Bubbs, and in Great Barrington fashion we wound up down by the River, started a fire, and drank a bit of whiskey…. Typical GB day for sure!

Sister
Dave and Tim Live in Vegas

Another day of travel (and another excuse for my blog being late!) and FINALLY I’m in Massachusetts. I started the day in New York City at my friend Nathan’s place (the singer from Man on Earth). We went and got lunch then I headed to the train. Three and a hall hours later I met up with my mom, then an hour later I was finally home. My two sisters were waiting at the door as we pulled in, and it reminded me of this song. In the last two years I finally have been able to spend time with my sisters, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. So this one goes out to them.

One Sweet World/Happy Birthday
Live at Piedmont Park

I again spent most of my day today in the airport, waiting for my standby seat. Even though I was stuck there all day I was decidedly uninspired when it came to doing anything constructive, like writing out my daily blog. (Which is why it’s late… Sorry!)
To make matters worse today was my birthday, and I tell you, there is nothing like spending it in an airport all day.
Today, I spent a lot of time mulling over ideas, (like the fact that it was 23 years ago to the day that Dmb played their first show…) and overthinking what song to choose for today, and ultimately chose to go simple. At the end of this version of ‘One Sweet World’ the band plays Happy Birthday for LeRoi Moore.
So I’ll dedicate this to my friend and fellow Dmb fan McCartney, who shares a birthday with me… Pi day!
And as I type this a day late, I also wanted to co-dedicate it to someone who’s birthday is actually today (but she has a strong dislike for Dmb, so it’s funny…) the lovely miss Sam…. Happy Birthday, y’all!

Help Myself
The Central Park Concert

I spent most of today sitting in Denver’s airport waiting to see if I could get a stand by ticket to head back east. This is one of the songs that just kept playing over and over in my head, because of the inability to be able to do anything to help my own situation. I never made it on to a flight… Tomorrow’s another day.

Stay
Live From Selma, TX

Tomorrow I’m headed back east from Denver, and it comes to mind that every time I leave this city I’m already wishing I was back here. I’ve been all around the country, and while my home town may be in Western Massachusetts, Denver’s where I want to be. I’ll be back in the summertime, but right now I wish I could stay.
